The Data Science Learning Studio (DSLS) 2022 program, created by the Indonesian Data Science Community, is a good place for fresh graduates and professionals to improve their data skills. The main theme in 2022 was “Data Literacy for Better Policy.” The goal was to help people, especially those working in government and NGOs, use data science to solve problems in the public sector in Indonesia.
DSLS gives a complete learning experience. Participants can discuss topics, work on daily homework, and share their work experiences. As a facilitator, my role was to help answer questions and give clear explanations, both technical and theoretical. The program used Stack Overflow as a discussion platform, where participants and facilitators could interact and support each other.
This program helped participants improve both their technical and soft skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking. It also gave them a chance to connect with other people in the data science field.
As a facilitator, I found Stack Overflow very useful for discussions. Before this, I mostly used it to find answers for coding problems. In this program, I saw that it is also a great place to share ideas and help others learn. Overall, DSLS is a valuable program for anyone who wants to grow in data science, and I recommend it to those who want to learn and improve their skills.
